Ad Privacy Legislation: What It Means, What It Doesn't, & Why There's No Need to Panic

In this episode of Revenue Rehab, Brandi talks to Gary Kibel, a partner at law firm Davis+Gilbert LLP in New York City, in the Digital Media, Technology & Privacy Practice Group. Brandi and Gary shed light on Ad Privacy Legislation. Gary walks us through the basics any marketing leader should know about federal law, privacy, and marketing. Additionally, he explains the steps required to stay compliant while still being able to market. He clarifies how opt-out laws are only an opt-out of very targeted marketing, not an opt-out of advertising. Gary adds critical points to consider about the cookie-less world and how it is not driven by these laws but by tech mammoths like Apple and Google. Every head of marketing needs to be aware of such regulations. "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure," Gary adds.
