UTMs - What are they & how to create them
How UTMs Work:
UTMs are used to send the following informa on into Google Analy cs about your campaigns:
• Source:
° Refers to "who" sent traffic to your website e.g., "Eloqua" or "Facebook".
° Example: "utm_source=yoursource"
• Medium:
° Refers to "where" your traffic came from e.g., "email," or "cpc".
° Example: "utm_medium=yourmedium"
• Campaign:
° Tells Google Analy cs the name of your specific marke ng campaign.
° Example: "utm_campaign=your-campaign-name"
• Content:
° Allows you to provide addi onal detail about your campaign, for example, the
specific PPC ad text that you're using to drive traffic.
° Example: "utm_content=your_ad_text"
• Term:
° The keyword that triggered your PPC ad and sent you traffic from your paid
search adver sing.
° Example: "utm_term=your+keyword"
