4 How To #1: 5 Steps to Creating a Google Analytics Account 1. Create a free Google Account (this is required to set up Google Analy cs). a. URL: h ps://accounts.google.com/SignUp?hl=en-US 2. Create a free Google Analy cs Account using your Google Account. a. URL: h ps://google.com/analy cs a. Fill in your Account Name, Website Name, Website URL, and select an Industry Category and Repor ng Time Zone. a. Under Data Sharing Op ons, check the boxes next to the op ons that you want. 3. Create a property and view for your primary domain name to be tracked with Google Analy cs: Part A: Create a Property a. Click Admin. b. In the ACCOUNT column, use the menu to select the account to which you want to add the property. c. In the PROPERTY column, select Create new property from the menu. d. Select Website. e. Enter the Website Name. f. Enter the Web Site URL. g. Select an Industry Category. h. Select the Repor ng Time Zone. Part B: Update Referral Exclusion List a. Admin > Select a Property > Tracking Info > Referral Exclusion List. b. If your root site is already there – great! You're done this sec on! c. If your root site is NOT listed, click "Add Referral Exclusion" and provide your root domain (i.e., yoursite.com – no h p, no www, etc.,). Part C: Create a View a. Navigate to the property to which you want to add the view. b. In the VIEW column, click the menu, then click Create new view. c. Select Web Site. d. Enter a Name - Use a specific and descrip ve name, so you can easily tell what data is in this view when you see the name in a list. e. If necessary, select the Repor ng Time Zone. f. Click Create View. IMPORTANT: DO NOT install the tracking code yet! See next sec on for instruc ons. 4. Repeat Step 3 for your Eloqua sub-domain. This me, use your Eloqua Subdomain as the website name. 5. Set up User Management to iden fy which users will have access and the level of access.
